Data Breaches Reported in Texas
Companies that reported data breaches affecting Texas residents to the state attorney general.
Texas requires businesses to notify affected individuals "in the most expedient time possible and without unreasonable delay" after discovering a breach. The Texas AG must be notified if the breach affects 250 or more Texas residents. The state's breach notification law covers Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, financial account information, and certain government-issued identification numbers.
